Our Story

Two Perspectives, One Complete Guide

BonjourGuide is written by Jean-Paul and Jessica.

Jean-Paul is French and grew up in France. Everyday life there is familiar to him, including the routines and expectations that tend to confuse visitors.

Jessica is American and has spent more than twenty years traveling in France. Over time, she noticed that many of the difficulties people run into have little to do with sightseeing and more to do with ordinary, practical details.

WWe started BonjourGuide after seeing the same questions come up again and again. Friends and family visiting France often asked about things that were hard to find clear answers to. How certain systems work. What is normal. What tends to surprise people once they arrive.” says Jessica.

Jean-Paul adds, “Most travel sites focus on destinations. This site focuses on the parts of a trip that are less obvious and rarely explained. And if they are it’s not from an actual French person!”

The articles on BonjourGuide are based on our direct experiences. They come from situations we have dealt with ourselves and questions we have been asked repeatedly.

BonjourGuide is written for non-French travelers who want straightforward information about France without embellishment or assumptions.

We hope you find the information helpful. And if you still have questions, please reach out! We’d love to hear from you!
